2026 Trainer and Jockey Challenges
Celebrating 143 years of KI Racing Club in 2026

Arthur Daw Memorial Trainer Challenge

With $10,000 in prize money on offer for the 2026 Kangaroo Island racing season, the overall winner will be the trainer who, at the conclusion of Day 3, has accumulated the most points. Previous champions have attended all three race meets, and we strongly encourage trainers to compete at both our January and February meetings in 2026 to secure 5 bonus points.

In the case of a tie for first place, the trainer with the most race winners will be awarded the prize. For a tie in second or third place, the trainer with the greatest number of place-getters will be declared the winner.

Points* will accumulate across all three days of racing as follows:

  • 4 points for each winner

  • 2 points for each runner-up (2nd place)

  • 1 point for each 3rd placegetter

*A 5-point bonus will be awarded for any trainer starting horses on every day of the three days of Kangaroo Island racing.
